Before his own Fender signature model existed, the Select Carved Maple Top Jazzmaster HH was Guthrie Govan's main Fender guitar, and he has said on camera that it is jazzmaster-shaped but carries some non-Jazzmaster DNA of its own. It pairs a chambered alder body with a carved flame maple top under a hand-stained gloss finish, a pair of Wide Range Special humbuckers, and a thick modern C-shaped maple neck with a channel-bound, compound-radius rosewood fingerboard running from 9.5 to 14 inches, plus a distinctively oversized Fender Select headstock.
