The Friedman IR-J is a Jake E. Lee signature dual-channel all-tube preamp pedal powered by two high-voltage 12AX7 tubes. The two fully independent foot-switchable channels are based on Friedman's JEL-100 and JEL-20 amp designs — themselves rooted in Dave Friedman's modded Marshall 800 and Plexi circuits.
