It pairs that with a large 70s-style headstock, a scalloped fingerboard for the last several frets to give lighter string contact during his fast legato and vibrato-heavy runs, and a set of single coils voiced for the searing, classically-influenced lead tone he built through Deep Purple and Rainbow.
