Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Fjord Fuzz FREI is a uni-vibe style modulation pedal from Fjord Fuzz, the Norwegian boutique pedal builder. Fully discrete all-analogue design uses an incandescent bulb with corresponding LDRs to produce authentic chewey, swirly, throbby, psychedelic vibe sounds in the Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe tradition. An 8-bit DIP switch array provides 256 customisation options including ramp-up tremolo shapes, square-wave vibratos, and variations on the all-pass filter configuration.
The MXR M68 Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato recreates the classic Uni-Vibe's thick, swirling modulation character in a compact, Phase 90-sized enclosure at a fraction of the price of most boutique Uni-Vibe clones. Speed, Level, and Depth controls plus a mini push switch select between Chorus mode, where the pitch-shifted signal blends with the dry guitar tone, and Vibe mode, where the dry signal is removed entirely, leaving only the swirling pitch-shifted tone. It runs true hardwire bypass on 9V battery or adapter power at very low current draw, and includes glow-in-the-dark control markings and LED indicators for dark-stage use.
