The Walrus Audio Fundamental Series Fuzz is the accessible entry in Walrus's Fundamental line, using slider controls for Gain, Volume and Tone plus a three-way mode toggle that gives it genuine three-in-one range. Classic mode is a traditional vintage-style fuzz with a scooped midrange -- thick and woolly with the familiar Muff-like sustain. Mid+ puts the midrange back for a smoother, more forward voice with singing sustain that suits classic rock leads and cuts better in a band. Gate mode drops the bias voltage for glitchy, spitty, dying-battery scuzz that stutters and collapses between notes, ideal for staccato riffing and lo-fi textures. Simple enough for a first fuzz but voiced well enough to stay useful, at an entry-level price.
