Lucille is the name B.B. King gave to every guitar he owned throughout his career, originating from a 1949 incident where he rescued his guitar from a burning dance hall in Twist, Arkansas, a fire that started over a woman named Lucille. From that point he named every subsequent guitar Lucille as a reminder never to run back into a burning building over a fight. This particular instrument is a signed example of the Gibson ES-355-based Lucille signature model Gibson eventually produced, carrying Kings autograph.
