The mahogany and maple combination generates tremendous grunt and a shocking tone departure from typical alder-and-maple spangle, yielding rich warm response with weight and character. Only fifty units were produced (twenty-five white, twenty-five splash finish) over 1988-1989, making it a collected rarity. The non-locking Edge II tremolo balances classic feel with modern precision.
The Washburn RR-V Tour Series is a rare flying V-shaped solid body electric guitar produced in Japan from 1985-1987. Different models featured varying configurations: lower models featured 1 humbucker at bridge and 2 single-coils at neck with Floyd Rose Wonderbar tremolo, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with shark fin inlays, and black hockey stick headstock. The RR-40 top model featured triple-coil humbuckers and polished carbonite fretboard. The dual humbucker configuration delivers powerful, versatile tone capable of everything from warm blues to screaming leads.
