Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Laney Billy Corgan Signature is a specialty amplifier or effects pedal created in collaboration with Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, designed to deliver the massive, wall-of-sound distortion character associated with Corgan's recording tones on Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie. Laney built amplifiers for Billy Corgan during the Smashing Pumpkins' peak years, and the signature product reflects that relationship and Corgan's specific tonal requirements.
