Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Marshall 1959HW Hand Wired is a point-to-point reissue of the 1959 Super Lead 100-watt Plexi, the non-master-volume head behind much of late-1960s and 1970s rock. EL34 power valves and vintage-spec components give it big, open cleans that bloom into rich, harmonically complex overdrive as the volume rises. With four inputs and two jumperable channels, it recreates the classic Hendrix-era British stack voicing. All of its grind comes from cranking the power section.

The Orange OR15 is a 15-watt all-valve single-channel head built on EL84 power, delivering the classic thick Orange midrange crunch at lower, more usable volumes than the bigger heads. With a simple volume, gain, and tone-shaping layout and a 7-watt power-reduction option, it is a popular pedal-friendly head for rock players wanting valve Orange tone for club and studio use.
