Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee is a reissue of the 1987 25/50 Jubilee head, a 100-watt EL34 amp with a distinctive diode-clipping gain stage that gives it a smooth, compressed, and singing lead voice. Famously favored by Slash, it offers a master volume and a low-power switch, blending Plexi roots with a tighter, more saturated high-gain channel. Its midrange focus and creamy sustain made it a hard-rock and lead-tone icon.

This is a limited-edition Marshall JCM800 2203, the 100-watt single-channel master-volume head that defined 1980s hard rock and metal, finished in a special purple cosmetic. Mechanically it is the iconic 2203 circuit with EL34 power valves, delivering cranked, midrange-forward crunch with aggressive bite and a tight low end. Slash, Zakk Wylde, and countless metal players built their tone on this amp.
