Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Martin 00-18 is a small-body (Grand Concert) acoustic with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, prized for a warm, balanced, articulate voice with strong midrange. Used by Steve Howe for fingerstyle pieces, it offers clear note separation and comfortable size ideal for fingerpicking, folk and intimate playing rather than big strumming. A refined, woody acoustic.

The Martin D-35 Standard Series is a professional dreadnought acoustic guitar featuring a spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides. The 25.4 inch scale length and 14-fret body deliver the classic dreadnought tone—bold, projective, and rich with powerful bass and clear trebles. The guitar features a Modified Low Oval neck profile with ebony fingerboard, 20 total frets, and 1.75 inch nut width widening to 2.125 inches at the twelfth fret. The forward-shifted X-brace with 1/4 inch non-scalloped braces creates a tone with beautifully balanced, powerful low-end, articulate mids, and shimmering highs. The three-piece East Indian Rosewood back design contributes to the versatile, resonant character.
