Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Martin 00-18 is a small-body (Grand Concert) acoustic with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, prized for a warm, balanced, articulate voice with strong midrange. Used by Steve Howe for fingerstyle pieces, it offers clear note separation and comfortable size ideal for fingerpicking, folk and intimate playing rather than big strumming. A refined, woody acoustic.

The Maton EBG808 is built on the Australian maker's 808 body — smaller than a dreadnought, closer to an OM — with a Sitka spruce top over Queensland maple back and sides, a native timber that gives it a tighter, more focused voice than the rosewood most fingerstyle guitars use. A 25.5-inch scale and Maton's AP5 Pro pickup system make it a stage instrument; Tommy Emmanuel has played the signature version of this shape for decades.
