The Mayfly Audio Terrain Tremolo is a boutique tremolo pedal from Mayfly Audio (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), delivering smooth, musical amplitude modulation tremolo with waveform shape control for customizable tremolo character. Mayfly Audio is a small Canadian boutique manufacturer making quality handcrafted effects. The Terrain provides tremolo with waveform shaping for players who want customizable tremolo beyond standard Rate and Depth controls.
Supacoil FX's Badalamenti Tremolo takes its name from composer Angelo Badalamenti, best known for his eerie, atmospheric scoring work on Twin Peaks, a project whose guitar-driven theme leaned heavily on slow, hypnotic tremolo-picked tones. Naming a tremolo pedal after him signals the builder's intent for a lush, cinematic, slightly unsettling pulsing modulation rather than a bright, upbeat surf-style tremolo. Tremolo works by rhythmically varying signal volume, and the specific rate range, waveform shapes, and depth control this particular circuit offers aren't confirmed from available sources beyond what the evocative naming suggests about its intended mood.
