Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The MXR Phase 95 Mini combines two classic MXR phaser circuits in one compact enclosure, with a toggle selecting between them. The Phase 90 setting is a four-stage phaser with the thick, warm, pronounced midrange swirl that defined the original orange MXR box, prominent enough to sit forward in a mix. The Phase 45 setting is a two-stage circuit giving a subtler, lighter and more transparent sweep that thickens the tone without dominating it. A second toggle switches between script and block voicings, the script setting being smoother and less pronounced with less volume lift, the block setting brighter and more aggressive. A single Speed control sets the rate.

The Roland PH-3 Phase Shifter is a multi-mode phaser from Roland (Hamamatsu, Japan), delivering 4, 8, 10, and 12-stage phase shifting modes alongside Rise and Fall modes for comprehensive phaser coverage. The PH-3 provides the widest range of phaser stages available in one pedal at Roland Japanese quality for classic rock, funk, and experimental guitar.
