Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.52% — moderately similar

The One Control Strawberry Red Overdrive is a Björn Juhl design that sounds like a circuit evolved from the Tube Screamer — slightly darker, tighter and with more gain than the original it descends from. Juhl's Swedish workshop BJFE built its reputation on refined, hand-built drives, and the One Control BJF series brings those designs to production in miniature enclosures. Within that series this is the baseline overdrive from which the higher-gain Lingonberry was later developed. It suits blues and rock players who find a standard Screamer too bright or too loose.
The Vertex Effects Ultra Phonix is a premium boutique overdrive pedal from Vertex Effects of Los Angeles, California, delivering warm, natural overdrive with exceptional dynamic response and harmonic complexity inspired by classic amp overdrive tones.
