A Mids control boosts midrange at one of three selectable frequencies, and a Cut knob rolls off high end using Origin's Adaptive Circuitry, which reduces treble roll-off as the signal cleans up so the tone stays consistent across playing dynamics. Without engaging the EQ shaping, it works as a transparent clean boost or light valve-like drive; with the EQ dialed in, it becomes a far more versatile, touch-sensitive tone-shaping tool than a typical low-gain overdrive.
The Xotic AC Booster V2 is a warm, amp-like overdrive and booster from the Los Angeles maker, offering over 20dB of gain with a voice designed to behave like pushing a good tube amp harder rather than imposing a pedal character of its own.
