Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Schecter Dream Machine came from the company's original incarnation as a parts maker upgrading Fenders, and was its first complete guitar. Hardware was brass rather than steel, the bodies used exotic or high-grade timber, and the electronics ran Schecter F500T pickups through three mini-toggles giving 26 switching combinations. Mark Knopfler played two through the early Dire Straits years, and surviving examples are rare and collectable.

Tanglewood Memphis AS-35 is a semi-hollow body electric guitar (ES-335 style copy) with dual humbucking pickups, set neck for enhanced sustain, rosewood fingerboard, and double-cutaway design. Made in Korea, the AS-35 delivers warm, resonant tone suitable for jazz, rock, and versatile playing styles.
