Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Schecter Dream Machine came from the company's original incarnation as a parts maker upgrading Fenders, and was its first complete guitar. Hardware was brass rather than steel, the bodies used exotic or high-grade timber, and the electronics ran Schecter F500T pickups through three mini-toggles giving 26 switching combinations. Mark Knopfler played two through the early Dire Straits years, and surviving examples are rare and collectable.

The Yamaha Pacifica 1421 sits at the top of the original Pacifica line developed by Rich Lasner, and is nothing like the entry-level models the name later came to mean. It is neck-through — a maple neck running the length of a basswood body with a maple top — in an HSH layout pairing two DHB1 humbuckers with a DSNB single-coil. Fewer than 250 were built, making it the rarest Pacifica.
