Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. The Subdecay Vagabond Harmonic is a harmonic tremolo pedal from Subdecay (Portland, Oregon), delivering the dimensional, swirling harmonic tremolo effect by splitting the signal into bass and treble frequency bands and modulating them out of phase. The Vagabond Harmonic captures the rich, three-dimensional tremolo of vintage Brownface-era Fender amplifiers at Subdecay boutique quality.
The Universal Audio UAFX Flow is a compact vintage tremolo pedal that emulates classic tube-powered amp tremolo, delivering the woozy, pulsing sound of vintage Fender amps with impressive fidelity. It offers three modes: 65, modeling the optical tremolo of mid-1960s amps like the Deluxe and Twin Reverb; Square, a harder-edged choppier waveform; and Dharma, a harmonic tremolo voiced after late-1950s and early-1960s Fender amps. Its range spans gently pulsing throb to machine-gun chop, and the harmonic mode adds a lush, phasey movement many players find unexpectedly rewarding. Simple to use yet richly authentic, it is an affordable, great-sounding choice for blues, surf, indie, country and vintage-flavored tones in a small true-bypass enclosure.
