Carr Impala

Carr · amplifier

The Carr Impala is a 44-watt point-to-point hand-wired guitar combo amplifier inspired by the classic Fender Bassman circuit, refined with Carr's distinctive voicing enhancements including an added Mid control, reverb, and master volume. At lower settings the Impala produces lush, sparkling clean tones from scooped-to-midrange-thick; past 3 o'clock the volume control drives aggressive American overdrive with natural sustain and girth. The Bassman-derived tone stack is described as well-voiced and natural-sounding with a plentiful supply of natural overtones. Unlike the original Bassman, the Impala is more forgiving and less stiff in the low end. Premier Guitar described it as one of the finest rock amplifiers they had played.
