The DigiTech IPS-33B Super Harmony Machine is a rack-mounted intelligent pitch-shifting harmonizer, generating musically correct harmony lines above or below the input signal by tracking the key rather than applying a fixed, mechanical interval. That intelligence made it possible to add real-time two- and three-part harmonies to a single guitar line without the dissonant clashes a simple pitch shifter produces outside the right key.
