Slash first sketched the idea for the Guild Crossroads at a roadside diner in Hollywood in 1993, and Guild turned it into a real production instrument a year later: a double neck combining a chambered acoustic 12-string on top with a solid-body electric 6-string below, joined in a carved mahogany body with a maple top, a high-gloss lacquer finish, Seymour Duncan pickups on the electric neck, and a Fishman transducer and preamp system powering the acoustic side. Slash has used a transparent green example extensively across Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver performances, and also owns versions finished in red, blue, and black, letting him move between shimmering 12-string acoustic textures and driving electric rock tones without switching instruments mid-song.
