Maxon FW10 Fuzz Elements Wind
Maxon · pedal
The Maxon FW10 Fuzz Elements Wind is a recreation of the Tone Bender MkII, the late-1960s British fuzz behind the classic British Invasion sound. Contrary to what the Wind name might suggest, this is not a light or airy voice: it is edgy and aggressive with plenty of midrange sizzle, rich in harmonic overtones and with a hard, cutting attack. Note definition is unusually good for a fuzz of this type, so complex chords stay crisp instead of collapsing into mud, and it cleans up beautifully as the guitar volume is rolled off. A vintage/hot switch selects two gain levels, and a buffer switch adds an output buffer producing a dirtier version of the guitar's original sound. Reviewers rated the Wind the standout of the Fuzz Elements series, while noting the controls alter the sound only subtly. Die-cast aluminium enclosure with true bypass.
