Parsons Triple Jet Electric Guitar
Parsons · electric guitar
Jack White designed the Parsons Triple Jet as an extension of the classic Gretsch Duo Jet, commissioning luthier Randy Parsons in 2006 to hand-build it entirely outside Gretsch's own involvement, adding a third Gretsch humbucker in the middle position with individual on-off switches for each pickup mounted on the horn, plus a hidden MXR Micro Amp preamp built into the middle pickup cavity with its own external gain knob, letting White instantly boost volume and fullness for a solo at the flick of a switch. Built with a chambered mahogany body, maple top, aged neck and back, a Bigsby vibrato, and a custom copper top and headstock overlay, Parsons built two identical units both serial-numbered 3, and the resulting Triple Jet III became White's primary number-one guitar.
