Red Witch Binary Star

Red Witch · pedal

The Red Witch Binary Star is a stereo analogue-voiced delay and time modulator from the New Zealand builder, combining elements of the company's earlier delays into what Red Witch call their best-sounding delay to date. Five dials, two toggles and a footswitch cover far more than straight echo: repeats run from clean, simple slapback through warm, darkening analogue-flavoured trails, and pushing the modulation section turns the delay line into chorus, vibrato, heavily pitch-shifted warble and shimmering, spacey textures. In stereo mode the wet and dry signals split to separate outputs for two amplifiers, where the atmospherics open into a wide, immersive field. Mono operation is also supported. Best suited to players after ambient, psychedelic and pitch-bent delay textures rather than a strictly clean digital repeat.
