The Tech 21 SansAmp Character Plus Screaming Blonde pairs a sparkling American-voiced tube amp emulation with a Tube Screamer-style overdrive in a single 100% analogue pedal. The Character control moves backwards through the Fender timeline: fully anticlockwise gives the scooped midrange and glassy, sparkling cleans of the Blackface and Silverface era; midway lands on the Blonde and Brown-panel voices; and fully clockwise arrives at the midrange-forward honk and grind of a Tweed. The screamer side adds the familiar mid-hump push for leads, and the two sections work independently or stacked. A three-band active EQ, built-in speaker simulation and a balanced XLR output let it drive a desk or interface directly.
