Blended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.49% — somewhat different

The Aguilar OBP-2TK is a 2-band boost and cut on-board bass preamp using all-discrete FET circuitry, upgrading the boost-only OBP-1 with full cut capability on both bands. It provides up to 18dB of boost and cut at 40Hz for bass and up to 16dB at 6.5kHz for treble. The higher treble center frequency compared to the OBP-1's 4kHz produces a silkier more present high-end character rather than a crispy upper-mid lift. Compatible with 9V or 18V. Popular as a replacement preamp in mid-range active basses where the original 2-band EQ is underpowered.
The Ampeg Classic Analog Bass Preamp pedal (CABP, model F17-1) is an all-analog circuit bringing vintage Ampeg SVT preamp character to a compact bass pedal. The preamp section provides up to +18 dB of gain feeding a 3-band EQ: Bass +7/-20 dB at 40 Hz, Mid +5/-11 dB at 500 Hz, Treble +10/-10 dB at 4 kHz. Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo passive switches add a high-frequency shelf or a simultaneous bass boost with mid cut for classic SVT fat low-end tone. True bypass, 9V DC at 20mA, internal -15 dB input pad for active basses. Housed in a matte black all-metal enclosure at approximately street price.
