citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Description

The Analog Man Beano Boost is a boutique reimagining of the classic Dallas Rangemaster treble booster, built around a hand-selected germanium transistor for the bright, raw, open, and honky midrange push that defined 1960s British blues-rock guitar tone. It gets its name from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers 'Beano' album, on which Eric Clapton used a Rangemaster to get his famous cutting, singing lead tone, and the same circuit lineage was used by Brian May and Marc Bolan. A three-way switch selects between the original treble-boost voicing, a punchier mid-boost voicing, and a fuller, more full-range boost, letting players tailor the frequency emphasis rather than being locked into one fixed voicing. Rather than adding gain the way a modern overdrive does, it pushes the front end of an amp into natural tube breakup, adding edge and cut without heavy coloration, and responds well to guitar volume-knob changes. Available in full-size and compact Mini versions with identical circuitry. It suits blues-rock and classic-rock players chasing an authentic, bright, cutting British treble-boost tone rather than a modern mid-scooped overdrive voicing.

The Browne Amplification Carbon is a modified Bluesbreaker-style overdrive from Kansas City-based Browne Amplification, representing the lower-gain channel of the Protein dual overdrive as a standalone pedal. Produces a sparkling clean boost through brightly warm crunch overdrive with a tight low-end response and exceptional dynamic range. A 3-way high-cut toggle shapes the treble response for stacking with other pedals or brighter rigs. Associated with Mayer-esque lead tones and crisp country rhythm playing. The Carbon is described as the most amp-like and organic of the Browne lineup.
