Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Catalinbread Airstrip CB-Range Overdrive Preamp is a console-inspired overdrive and preamp pedal based on the Trident A-Range channel strip circuit, delivering gain-shaping capability from clean EQ tonal coloring through fuzzy, filtered overdrive tones. The CB-Range designation refers to the Catalinbread A-Range circuit topology. Covers subtle boost, studio-style preamp coloration, and mix-cutting fuzzy overdrive associated with classic rock recordings. Built in Portland, Oregon. Suited for classic rock, studio, and recording-focused players.

The Catalinbread Sabbra Cadabra Blackout is a limited all-black edition of the Portland boutique builder's Tony Iommi-inspired gain pedal, combining a custom-tuned Dallas Rangemaster treble booster with the preamp section of a Laney Supergroup amplifier. The circuit is designed to reproduce the early Black Sabbath tone created when Iommi ran a treble booster into cranked Laney amplifiers. The Range control adjusts from focused treble boost to full-range boost, accommodating standard tuning and drop tunings. The Blackout edition shares the identical circuit with the standard Sabbra Cadabra, differing only in its all-black cosmetic finish.
