Derek Trucks received this 1990 Gibson SG '62 Reissue as a gift from his parents, who bought it at Paulus Music in Jacksonville, Florida, and it became his main guitar until its headstock broke in 1999. Trucks describes it as the template for his ideal SG, citing its slim taper neck, '57 Classic pickups, and above all the weight and balance that make it comfortable through the long slide-playing sessions his style depends on. Over the years he modified it himself, removing the neck pickup cover in 1991 and taking off the pickguard by 1993, though not before B.B. King had signed the pickguard in white marker, a detail Trucks reportedly wanted to preserve by removing it rather than leaving it exposed to wear.
The Ibanez SLM10 is Scott LePage's signature AZ series electric guitar, introduced in 2019. The guitar features a quilted maple top over American basswood body bolted to a one-piece roasted maple neck with roasted maple fingerboard and 22 stainless steel frets. The 25.5 inch scale length and 42mm nut width provide a comfortable, modern playing platform. A custom DiMarzio IGNO humbucker bridges with DiMarzio True Velvet single-coils in the neck and middle positions, enabling excellent sustain and flexible tonal range from clean to crunchy tones. The five-way pickup selector switch accesses at least five distinct pickup combinations with a T1502 synchronized tremolo and Graph Tech TUSQ nut.
