Similarity
citedBlended from circuit-archetype lineage, dynamic feel, tone-signal overlap and tone-vector distance — the tone vector itself is derived from editorial description text, not a measured acoustic signal, so this reflects how similarly the catalog copy describes the two, not a lab measurement. Shown only within a gear class, and only where there's enough evidence to be meaningful.

Description

The Mesa Boogie Subway D-800 is an ultra-compact, 800-watt Class D bass amp head weighing 5.5 pounds, roughly double the output of the smaller D-350 in a still remarkably lightweight package a little over 3 inches tall and 10 inches wide. It shares the D-350's solid-state preamp and lightweight Class D power amp architecture with switch-mode power supply, but adds an active cooling fan to handle its higher sustained output, along with a Deep switch (versus the D-350's Bright switch) for low-end tonal shaping.

The Traynor YBA100 is a 100-watt, all-tube bass head switchable between 4 and 8 ohms, running three 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6/EL34 power output tubes in a genuinely lightweight, lunch-box-style chassis, lighter than most 100-watt tube bass amps on the market. It's built for bassists wanting real tube warmth and headroom without the bulk typically associated with high-wattage tube bass heads.
