The famous Caramel-finished example carries white EMG active pickups and a Floyd Rose tremolo, and it debuted publicly at the 1988 Nelson Mandela tribute concert before Knopfler first used it on record for Dire Straits' 1991 album On Every Street. He continued playing it in his live shows for decades afterward, until finally selling it at a Christie's auction in 2024.
