Jimmy Pages Brown Telecaster began as a 1958 Fender Telecaster before being repainted brown and fitted with a B-bender mechanism in 1976, the string-pulling device pioneered by Clarence White and Gene Parsons that lets a player bend the B string mechanically while holding a chord. Page used it specifically for that B-bender effect on Led Zeppelins 1977 US tour for Ten Years Gone, at the 1983 ARMS charity concert, with The Firm from 1984 to 1986, and with Roy Harper at a 1984 UK festival, reaching for it whenever a song called for that pedal-steel-like pitch bend.
