Blackstar · amplifier
The Blackstar Silverline Special is a 50-watt digital modeling combo amplifier built around Blackstar's TVP (True Valve Power) and SHARC processor technology to emulate the tonal characteristics of six distinct power tube types: KT88, 6L6, KT66, EL34, 6V6, and EL84. Six amp voices cover clean country sparkle through crunch and high-saturation metal. Blackstar's ISF tone control sweeps American open character to British midrange punch. The onboard effects include warm tremolo, natural reverb, and tap-tempo delay. At 50 watts the amp provides stage-capable output while the SHARC-driven TVP emulation produces tube-like dynamics and touch response that reviewers described as indistinguishable from real tube amps at moderate playing levels.
What stands out
