The DiMarzio Transition is a passive humbucker set designed for Steve Lukather and his Music Man LIII, named after his album Transition and marking his move from active to passive pickups. A powerful magnet and coils tuned to slightly different frequencies create strong fundamentals and notes that resolve easily into singing harmonics. The bridge model is tough and in-your-face, great for shredding and technical lead playing, while the set as a whole is organic, fat and remarkably balanced with no single dominant frequency.
