MXR Dookie Drive 30th Anniversary
MXR · pedal
The MXR Dookie Drive is a signature overdrive pedal developed in collaboration with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, released in 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Dookie album. The circuit captures the heavily modified amplifier blend that Armstrong used to record Dookie, where two amp signals were combined in different channel ratios to produce the combination of scooped gain and mid-present character that defines the album guitar tone. The Dookie Drive delivers a two-channel-influenced overdrive-to-distortion character suited to punk rock, pop-punk, and alternative rock styles associated with the Dookie record. An updated version four followed the original release.
