This 1962 Fender Jaguar in Fiesta Red is the guitar John Frusciante has owned longer than any other instrument in his collection. It was the only guitar he kept through the years he left the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and when he rejoined the band in 1998 it was the guitar he had used to rebuild his playing during that time away. Frusciante has called it the most fun guitar he owns to play live. As a period-correct 1962 Jaguar it carries the model's dual single coils, floating vibrato, and shorter 24-inch scale length, giving it a brighter, snappier character than a Stratocaster or Telecaster, and its personal history with Frusciante makes it one of the more sentimentally significant guitars in his collection rather than simply a stage tool.
