Ibanez Blazer BL1025
Ibanez · electric guitar
The Ibanez Blazer BL1025 was the top-of-the-line entry in Ibanez's Blazer series, made in Japan for only a single production year before the line was discontinued entirely. Gary Clark Jr picked one up in 2001, a Cayman Green example, and played it extensively through much of the following two decades, including well into 2018 and 2019, well after most Blazer models had faded from wider guitar culture. Clark's connection to the model runs deeper than the BL1025 alone: his very first guitar, received at age 12 on Christmas 1996, was an earlier Ibanez in the same general family, the RX20, giving him a genuine long-term relationship with Ibanez's budget and mid-tier guitars years before his career took off.
