ThorpyFX The Field Marshal Fuzz
ThorpyFX · pedal
The ThorpyFX Field Marshal is a MkII of the Lovetone Big Cheese fuzz, developed by Adrian Thorpe in collaboration with original Lovetone designer Dan Coggins. It is smaller, louder, quieter and more tonally flexible than the 1990s original, with a wider usable range. Four controls -- Volume, Fuzz, Tone and Balance -- shape the fuzz, and a three-way toggle sets the midrange character: a gated voice that spits and cuts off between notes, a flat-mid setting, and an enhanced-mid setting that pushes the fuzz forward for leads. A second footswitch bypasses the tone stack entirely, giving a rawer, louder, more open fuzz from the same pedal, so two distinct voices are available without re-dialling. Built with 1% metal-film resistors, Wima and Panasonic capacitors, Neutrik jacks and a gold-plated PCB in a laser-cut anodised aluminium enclosure.
