Red Witch Opia
Red Witch · pedal
The Red Witch Opia is a fuzz engine with no knobs at all -- an unusual set-and-forget design controlled entirely from the guitar's own volume and tone controls. Wide open it produces a mammoth wall of thick, wooly, saturated fuzz with enormous sustain and unrelenting sonic destruction; rolling the guitar volume back cleans it progressively into growl and grit, and the guitar's tone control moves it between glassy highs and a darker, heavier voice. Two internal trimpots set output volume and adjust the aggression to taste once, after which the pedal needs no further adjustment. Red Witch describe it as a romantic getaway between guitar and fuzz tone, and it is aimed squarely at players who run an amp loud and ride the guitar volume to control gain.
