Vox V 847A Wah
Vox · pedal
The Vox V847-A is the modern reissue of the classic 1960s Vox wah, the circuit that defined the wah sound heard across countless 60s and 70s rock recordings. It produces a dark, throaty, vocal sweep with an almost analog-synth quality, seeming to morph between low-pass and high-pass voicings as the treadle rocks. Compared with brighter modern wahs it is nasal, intense and in-your-face, sitting slightly darker overall. The reissue stays faithful to the original tone while adding a redesigned inductor that brings it closer to vintage spec, an input buffer to prevent tone loss in bypass, and AC power compatibility. It is an affordable, well-built classic-voiced wah for rock and blues lead and rhythm.
