Jimmy Page's Les Paul Deluxe Number 3, a late-1969 gold-top repainted red, entered his rig around August 1970, likely as a working replacement for the Black Beauty Custom he'd used previously, though it saw only sporadic use at first, appearing at shows like the 1971 Bath Pavilion date and 1973 Southampton University before becoming a more regular part of his rig during Led Zeppelin's 1973 US tour on songs including Over the Hills and Far Away and Whole Lotta Love. It carries a pancake body, a one-piece neck without a volute, and two double-black-bobbin humbuckers. Page later resurrected and modified Number 3 for The Firm's 1985 tour with hand-wound Seymour Duncan pickups and a Parsons and White B-Bender, then used it again during the 1994-1998 Page and Plant tours for Thank You.
