The Höfner Super Solid II is a German-built solid-body from the early 1960s carrying two of Höfner's 'diamond' pickups, one volume and two tone controls, and a four-way selector rather than the usual three. A maple neck, 22 frets with full-width block markers, and an all-metal bridge with tremolo tailpiece complete a guitar built to European rather than American conventions — Mark Knopfler owned one before Dire Straits.
