Mooer MFZ1 Blue Faze
Mooer · pedal
The Mooer Blue Faze (MFZ1) is a micro fuzz built around a silicon BC108C transistor circuit -- a Fuzz Face-style design in one of the smallest enclosures on the market. Its two-knob layout of Fuzz and Volume keeps things simple, and the voicing is smooth, warm and vintage rather than spiky or gated, giving the woolly, psychedelic saturation associated with late-'60s and '70s fuzz. Like the circuit it descends from, it is highly responsive to the guitar's volume control: rolled back it thins to a clean or lightly broken-up tone, and opened up it thickens into full singing fuzz. A full metal shell, true bypass and a 3mA current draw make it an efficient pocket-sized way to get classic silicon fuzz onto a crowded board.
