Orange King-Comp
Orange · pedal
The Orange Kongpressor is an analog Class A optical compressor that adds an organic, three-dimensional quality to a guitar rig, inspired by iconic vintage optical studio units and using a reissue of the famous VTL5C3 vactrol optocoupler. At lower settings its compression is transparent yet fattening, adding mojo and a glossy sheen to the core tone, and even at extreme settings it stays musical with great feel under the fingers. Controls for attack and release fine-tune transients and bloom, while an active treble control adds chime and jangle and keeps the compression transparent. Unlike many compressors, it preserves low end, so it behaves beautifully with overdrive pedals or a cranked amp, adding fullness and sustain. It excels at crystal-clean country picking and as an always-on tone enhancer.
