Jaydee Donnington
Jaydee · electric guitar
UK luthier John Diggins, working under the Jaydee name, built the original Donnington SG for Angus Young in 1981 and presented it to him backstage just before AC/DC's performance at the Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donington, a guitar Young took straight from that gift onto the stage the same night. Built with a mahogany body and neck, lightning-flash fingerboard inlays, white binding on the neck and headstock, gold-plated hardware, and two Jaydee Hooligan humbuckers, it became one of the most visually striking guitars in Young's collection, distinct from his more commonly seen Gibson SGs. Jaydee later reintroduced a production replica of the model in 2015 after dropping their standard Angus Young SG from the catalog, keeping the Donnington name and design available to fans who wanted a piece of that specific 1981 moment.
