Duane Allman's cherry red 1961 Gibson SG, sometimes referred to informally as a Les Paul since Gibson's naming didn't fully shift to SG branding until a couple of years into the model's run, came to him from Dickey Betts, who had played it himself in the earliest days of the Allman Brothers Band before passing it on.
